In case you didn’t believe me about the animal noses, here’s proof:
The other guy is Bill, my office-roommate and lead programmer on the project.
Things evolve unpredictably in our office, but usually gravitating towards whatever we think the rest of the studio will find bizarre. What was originally the single birthday streamer that cut across the room and was inconveniencing everyone eventually got moved by our producer… at least, he lifted the centre and put it on Bill’s shelf so that people didn’t have to duck as much to get past it.
At around this time I noticed that the company had festive holiday greeting cards made for us, but they were just being left blank on the breakroom table for us to take. So I got one for both Bill and myself and we filled them out to ourselves from the owners of the company, and hung them from the birthday streamer.
Then Bill got the idea of playing Christmas music off of the Internet from a radio station that is dedicated to playing exclusively country-Christmas music. The following day I brought in a cheap plastic tree and stockings with our names on them to hang. The end result looked like this:
(The many trophies on Bill’s shelves are the result of people complaining that the office was being wasted on spartan people like us. To stop the complaints, he went to Value Village and bought as many used trophies as he could.)
I also got a “Santa Claus is Coming” sign but you can’t see it in the picture.
So now with Christmas music constantly playing our office has become the spot for people to stop by and leave bewildered. It’s a little like university again, in fact.
Dan.
