In a rare moment of planetary alignment, I finally have my condo both clean and organized enough to take some pictures of it. At last you can get an idea of what it looks like compared to how it did when I first purchased it in January.
Notable differences include:
- Fresh coats of paint on everything
- New lighting fixtures everywhere
- Hardwood floors in the living room and den; new vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom
- All electrical outlets, switches and thermostats replaced (switches are now the sexy paddle kind)
- New blinds on all windows
- Replacements to a number of bathroom elements (such as the toilet seat and towel bars)
- Brand new appliances: fridge, dishwasher, stove, washer and dryer
- Cable run through the walls and outdoors so it could be brought into the living room
New furniture (since my previous two apartments) worth mentioning includes the computer desk in my bedroom and the sectional couch in the living room. There are some new shelves and things like that as well.
The place still isn’t 100% ready for next weekend. I still need to clean the bathroom and kitchen something fierce, and at the very least let my pet Roomba wander around a couple of times. Fortunately tomorrow is a holiday so I will have some time in which to do so.
My game is still faring moderately in the review scores. The penalties for being both a third-party DS game and a license of a movie franchise seem to be too heavy to keep it floating above a 70%. All of the actual reviews are quite positive, though, and almost uniformly acknoweldge it as a much better game than the score it’s getting. So here’s hoping people read the actual reviews and don’t just glance at the score.
I’m exhausted from all of this cleaning… good thing there’s the holiday tomorrow. Think I’m going to make some dinner and call it a day.
EDIT: Today is such a beautiful day I took a couple pictures of the view from the patio and added them to the gallery. Check it:
