Tough secret to keep

The Underpants opened last night, and between last night’s show and the preview the night before it’s been pretty exciting. We were extremely ready to perform for an audience, and it was very rewarding to do so. I found some old performance instincts kicking back in that I’d forgotten I have… it was nice to be able to play the actual moments of the show without feeling confined to habit, and to feel like there was some finesse to it.

In any case, this is hands-down the best straight play I’ve been in, with the most phenomenal cast I’ve had the privilege of working with, so if you were ever thinking of coming to see a show of mine, this is the one.

In other news, I’m on a new project at work. I can’t say what it is, but it is far more bizarre and ironic than anything I could have imagined. On the one hand it’s right up my alley. On the other… well, you’d understand if I could post it. This is gonna be a tough secret to keep.

The heat wave we’ve been having broke yesterday for a brief thunderstorm. I’m hoping things will continue to cool down to something more humane, but it doesn’t seem likely. Without an air conditioner I’m forced to leave my bedroom window open, which means dealing with noise from others in the complex who feel the need to be making sounds outside their condos. There isn’t lots of it, but whenever someone comes or goes or is talking to someone at 1 AM and they aren’t doing it indoors, I hear it as though they were sitting next to me. Not fun.
